PHP/MySQL - 2000-04-22
Then a couple days ago we had a client ask about setting up a Windows PC to run standalone applications using PHP/MySQL instead of Visual Basic. Erik and I did lots of giggling about how silly this was, but then I started thinking about how cool it would be. So I decided to copy my website over to the laptop to run as a standalone app. And it worked! Well.... after six hours of going through bad documentation, and "maybe if" type fixes, I finally got PHP to talk to MySQL and echo some text.
